Japanese GP FP1 Results: Max Verstappen Dominates

In the Japanese GP FP1, Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing set the fastest time among all drivers in the 4th race of the 2024 season. Max finished first in his RB20, recording a lap time of 1m30.056s. This came after the track was cleared due to Alex Albon’s crash. His teammate Perez secured second place, while Australian GP champion Carlos Sainz finished third.

Both Mercedes drivers finished fourth and fifth, with George Russell clocking a lap time of 1m30.530s and Lewis Hamilton following closely with 1m30.543s.

Another rookie, Ayumu Iwasa, made his Formula 1 debut, replacing Daniel Ricciardo. Drivers had the option to test the C2 tire, set to debut in 2024.
