Carlos Sainz approaches his last drive with Ferrari
Sainz is a Spanish racing driver, the son of a two-time World Rally Champion from whom he inherited his passion for motorsport from his father. He chose the race track in karting at the age of eleven. ‘Smooth Criminal’ made his single-seater debut in 2010 in Formula BMW, taking a win at Silverstone and now is with Ferrari. However, Ferrari’s recent statement about the new driver lineup for the season 2025 by signing Lewis Hamilton alongside Charles Leclerc, indicated the end of Sainz’s journey with the team after the 2024 season.
This unexpected move from Ferrari to sign the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton for the 2025 season has taken the Formula 1 world by surprise, including Carlos Sainz.
“So it gives you a bit of time to digest it, to make your own conclusions, and to focus on the 2024 season now that there is ahead. But the fact that it was a bit of a surprise to the whole Formula One world is no news, and it was obviously also for me.” Carlos Sainz commented.
Fred Vasseur, the principal of Ferrari, shared his views about the decision behind Lewis Hamilton’s transition to the team. He also commented about Sainz’s exit, Vasseur added:
“Unfair, I don’t know if it’s the right word, because I think for the team, the opportunity of Lewis [Hamilton], it’s something that you have to consider, in any case, that he is the biggest paramount of the field. He’s the guy with the biggest experience. And it’s a huge opportunity for us. It has nothing to do with Carlos. Carlos did a great job last year. I’m sure that he will do a great job next year.”

Will ‘Chilli’ replace Lewis Hamilton in 2025?”
There is a possibility that Sainz on a straight exchange option with Mercedes as Sainz’s contract with Ferrari ends this year, making him available for a new team for the 2025 season. Chilli is a solid driver on the grid, the two-time race winner who is a tough opponent for Leclerc, Norris, and Max Verstappen as well. Hence there is a high possibility of a swap.
Is Carlos transferring to Audi?
