  • Francis Ngannou Opens Up About Dana White and UFC’s Failure To Host Him Against Jon Jones In a Mega Clash- “Both Were Asking For It”

Francis Ngannou still seems willing to go against Jon Jones in a potential cage fight, something that has been touted by the experts and fans for several months. That said, Ngannou is now signed with the PFL MMA while his vacated UFC heavyweight title is now under Jon Jones’ reign.

While PFL and UFC can still co-promote the mega-fight, Dana White has shown no interest in making it happen with Pete Murray’s Professional Fight League, The UFC CEO recently clarified how he wanted to host Ngannou vs Jones in the UFC but didn’t happen. Hence, he refused to prioritize the matchup right now.

Meanwhile, Francis Ngannou spoke to the media and gave his views on the entire scenario. ‘The Predator’ completely accused White and his company of halting the bout.

Francis Ngannou said, “First of all, when I was around, Jon Jones wasn’t around,”

He added, “I was pushing so hard for Jon Jones because I knew the UFC was going to make [Daniel Cormier] and Stipe [Miocic] 3, the trilogy of Stipe and DC. So I wanted the Jon Jones fight, and they never brought that conversation up.” They would use it to paint out the narrative for both sides. If it’s [about] me, it’s like, ‘Oh, I’m not doing the fight.’ If it’s Jon Jones, so many times they have told me Jon Jones doesn’t want to do that fight.”

“I think we both were asking for it. My reason [it didn’t happen] is the UFC. The UFC’s responsible for this fight [not happening].” “I think that fight should happen, and I’ve been [asking] for this fight,” Ngannou said. “I think I can go back to the PFL and talk about this and make this fight happen.”

Francis Ngannou Is Now Making Big Fights On His Terms

Francis Ngannou had an exceptional boxing debut against Tyson Fury in Riyadh last month. Although he didn’t win, Ngannou arguably gave a one-sided beating to Fury. Ngannou also scored the only knockdown in the clash and has now entered the official WBC rankings.

The 37-year-old Cameroonian is also signed with PFL MMA and is the head of PFL Africa at the time. So, we are yet to be done with the Ngannou showdown as he continues to break barriers in the combat world.
