UFC 5 by EA Sports got a much-needed update on Thursday, buttoning up several gameplay issues across the board. Moreover, they also added a flyweight phenom Amir Albazi, and No. 2-ranked straw-weight contender Yan Xiaonan to the digital roster. Additionally, new vanity rewards have also been added. However, the gamers are not at all impressed by these changes.
That’s because UFC 5 is still missing a considerable number of top names and fan favorites. EA Sports is promising to add Ian Machado Garry, Mike Malott, Charles Jourdain, Mayra Bueno Silva, and Jailton Almeida in January, with Bryce Mitchell, Maycee Barber, and Joe Pyfer joining the lineup in February.
This week’s update includes multiple camera issues, with additional attention being given to animation errors and faulty AI. Online adjustments were also made to Career Mode and Rankings, as well as menu adjustments and crash repairs. Expect more fine-tuning in the coming weeks.
UFC 5 updates
The team also announced UFC 298 Fight Week Challenges and new Alter Egos are scheduled for next week. As for upcoming fighter to be added? Ian Machado Garry, Mike Malott, Charles Jourdain, Mayra Bueno Silva, and Jailton Almeida are coming in January, while Bryce Mitchell, Maycee Barber, and Joe Pyfer will make their debut in February.
As for the recent patch, well-executed takedowns will now pose a greater challenge to counter, while inadequately executed ones will be more susceptible to denial. Ground strikes from side control and the crucifix position will now inflict 25% less damage. The Muscle Modifier is now applicable in several additional transition scenarios.

Enhancements have been made in Online Career mode to simplify leveling up moves. Issues with progression and unlocking of grappling moves have also been addressed. Opponent HUDs will no longer be concealed in higher divisions of Ranked and Online Careers. Despite the changes, the fans and gamers are not at all impressed.

Never seen a game fall off as quickly as this game did, especially a sports game. EA deserved it though, gave us the same game after 3 years and expected it to do well with cats like Eddie Alvarez & Ben Askren still on the game 😆 such a joke! #UFC5 @EASPORTS
