In a statement released recently, announcing that the owner of Liberty Media, the US-based company of Formula One, Liberty Media has revealed its intention to acquire MotoGP’s parent company, Dorna.

Liberty Media takeovers MotoGP
Liberty Media announces the takeover of Moto GP to be complete by the end of 2024. The longtime CEO of Dorna Carmelo Ezpeleta, continues to lead the independently operated company, which is credited to Liberty Media’s Formula One Group tracking stock, and Dorna’s headquarters will be in Madrid.
This is the perfect next step in the evolution of MotoGP, and we are excited for what this milestone brings to Dorna, the MotoGP paddock, and racing fans, Ezpeleta says.
Liberty Media is acquiring approximately 86% of Dorna, and Dorna management retaining around 14% of its equity. Dorma was also owned by a British private investment bank that supported World Superbike Championship and all-electric MotoE.
