Derrick Lewis was arrested and taken into police custody a few hours ago., This comes days before his scheduled clash Against Jailton Almeida on November 4, 2023.

‘The Black Beast’ was arrested for reckless driving in Houston. Per official reports, Derrick Lewis caught a speed of 136 MPH in a zone that allows a speed up to 50 MPH.

Houston Police had detained the UFC Heavyweight fighter for breaking the law. Meanwhile, Derrick Lewis was released on a $100 personal recognizable bond. While the UFC star is now free, Lewis’ recent actions have dented his name.  Various reports claim. Derrick Lewis was driving a Lamborghini. His actions came to light when ‘The Black Beast’ rushed his vehicle beside a law-enforcement officer.

38-year-old Lewis now seems to be out of the legal trouble. However, he has faced a misdemeanor charge for getting arrested. If the UFC heavyweight gets legally convicted, then he might have to spend a month in prison along with a fine of $200.

That said, all these distractions shouldn’t let him underplay against Almeida. Standing on the 10th rank, Derrick Lewis will be facing number ninth-ranked heavyweight contender in Jailton Almeida. The winner of that fight shall climb the ladders towards a title picture.

While Lewis has a scheduled fight on board, it remains to be seen how he performs a few days after a hectic legal trauma.
